If you need a little squishy stuff or want to add a more organic feel to you collision objects, the Soft Body option has a million possibilities! This tutorial by Stuart Christensen will help you get a feel for soft body qualities and show you how to create and control the primary properties of a soft body object. Once created, you can then add springs for even greater control. You can make almost any object a soft body and the key is to use your imagination for limitless effects!

  • did you manually create each particle cloud or does it happen automatically when it hits the ground

  • @0fVolfAndMan There are 3 separate particle clouds (3 emitters) with a gravity field attached to each and the particles are made to collide with the surface plane. The particles are keyframed to begin emitting when the object touches the approximate spot of collision. Check out the tutorial mentioned in the Lesterbanks Promo to learn more about the particle cloud effect, it's an awesome tutorial by Pat Imrie on Vimeo.

    cool man thank you, i was just wandering if there was a quicker way to make effects like that because it would probably take me about three hours to do

  • @0fVolfAndMan You must master the elements Grasshopper......the more time you spend practicing now, the faster you will be in the future. Turn off the video games and get to work!
