R-Type Leo is a 1992 arcade shmup, released by Irem. It is the 3rd arcade game in the series (4th if Gallop is included), and is an arcade exlusive game (well until the Irem arcade pack comes out very shortly)

In the game there are 3 shot types, and all of them are quite useful in the game. The Red Laser shot is the best all around, the Green searching shot is good for point blanking or if there are a lot of enemies, and the Blue Mirrored shot is also good at clearing screens quickly.

The game gives you a heavty bonus at the end of the game, for each ship remaining, so a No Miss is always a very high score. This being the Western Record.

I wish there could be the shmup R-Type Duo, a game which features 2 player coop mode and a wider selection of R-Type Ships, each with their palette swap for player 2. The difficulty levels are Casual, Trainee, Pilot, R-Typer, and Scourge of Bydo.
