Port of Olympia - Military Convoy Protest - Nov. 11, 2007

Taken between 3:30 and 4:30 on November 11th, 2007.

This is video from today's protest of the convoy of military vehicles returning from war in Iraq.

In attendance were students, police, pro-war supporters, and war vets with Veteransforpeace.com

Best guess says the man in blue with a beard, still camera around his neck and expensive video camera was a spook doing surveillance of the protesters for the government - he didn't seem to want to be on video. Perhaps he works for the Olympian but he's not acting like a journalist.

This video shows protesters on one side of Market street and pro-war demonstrators on the other side of the street along with police.

A minute into the video you see police force people off the bike path on the side of the street so the convoy of military vehicles can pass through.

farblonjet, the materiel was returning from Iraq. the protest was against the use of a CIVILIAN port for military purposes. Many of us believe that people must speak out for what they believe in and for some odd reason Peace seems to be a better way than War and killing. Just remember the US invaded another country and has now been occupying it for over 4 1/2 years now.
