Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

I played a great horned owl, here, with the speed armor on.
Please forgive the tv grain and the shadow strip caused by my old TV.

Sorry, this song is 'Electricity' from Blood Stain Child, not Two Steps from Hell. I made some last second changes (this song was more exciting for something kinda mundane).

I just very loosely slapped this together - didn't time it or anything. It's just meant to show the detail and prettiness of the environments in this game, as well as the likeness of the movements of the owls (wing beats, tail ruddering, the ruffling of feathers, the reaction of the wing angles, etc).

I love the colors of the sky, too. It's often scenic, like something you would see in a photo in a gallery by a pro photog. Not well represented here with the tv issues.

By the way, this is me being rather safe while fly - pulling up sooner than my norm, not going through the trees, etc (so I wouldn't look like an idiot if I accidently smashed into one :x). I'm normally dodging trees while pulling out of a dive so close to the ground. I like playing chicken with the trees =p)

Environments - theres the Ga'Hoole tree on the island, the deserts of Kuneer, the Tito forest (not seen), the ice landscape and The Beaks mountains.

More about the game:
You start off doing missions in a loose story line, playing an owl named Shard. It loosely follows the book, but from his perspective.
You have to defend allies carrying water to forest fires, or carrying baskets of owlets to a safe location, follow comrades/eagle to different locations to find stuff, throw hot coals at catapults, order wing men, and fight Allomere at the end, through a high speed maze.

When you've completed the different areas your granted access to their maps to have free range flying. You can go just about anywhere in that range (which is a good amount of space to roam). You can weave between tight trees - that's how much space your granted. You can also search for scrolls, which give you access to artwork from the movie (the closeness/nearness indicator turns red for far (but in range) to green as you draw nearer. It's a game of hot and cold.

When you have free roam of the maps, there are owls placed around that if you hoot at them, when near, start individual missions. One is a timed speed race, another is saving three baby owlets (my fav), bombing runs (hot coals to destroy Pure One things like Catapults) and Survival mode - where the enemies become progressively harder and more numerous in each wave.
At the end of each, your awarded shinies and best time is recorded. With 'shinies' - the form of currency - you can purchase armor sets that give you different stats.
I just usually stick with the speed armor and claw set.
Also, your granted the ability to play each story-mode mission over again at your choosing.

I like to just fly around and explore...

You can choose from 4 different species of owl. Shard's appearance changes based on the selection of the owl species at the beginning of the game.

Barn owl - the most balanced and well ranged one.
Great Horned Owl - slower, but stronger in attacks
Great Grey owl - Slow but high defense and high offense
Spotted Owl - super fast, but not strong for confrontations/attacks
