Life in Chechnya before the Russian aggression...

I just love the drunk, smoking firemen, like in a scene from Mad Max, pretending to extinguish a huge bonfire at a petrol installation.
After they finally put it off (with a tank shot !), we see bits of daily life in Grozny, before the city was to be obliterated by the Russian aviation, all culminating with a march of the Sufis through central Grozny. I will later post the complete collective trance ceremony (zikr), which was then held every Thursday afternoon, in front of the building of the government. Rough footage from my next movie "A Chechen Confession", about the Chechen Sufi Islam.

Hope you are russian so I like to argue a bit (I am romanian so you can imagine we don't like you russians!) - after Stalin deported the entire chechen people far away and they could come home later now you say Grozny is a russian city? Maybe the old moldavian city Bendery is russian too? Man you really have talent in making everybody hate you! And later you wonder why? Stay in your own country let other nations live free and you will be liked! Otherwise all neighbours hate you!
