The Spanish Apartment part 9

An early 20's French man, Xavier, leaves his girlfriend and his country for Barcelona, the Erasmus program and a potential job with the French government. Crying on the flight he meets a young "not cool" French couple and will eventually have a sexual affair with the woman. The real story is the apartment Xavier finds. English, American, French, Belgium, Spanish, Italian, German, and Danish are represented. The remainder of the movie is based on their interactions leaving enough for the sequel The Russian Dolls.

I understand that she can be overbearing, but at that time, the mother was being pretty nice to him, taking him to the airport and saying she was happy to see him. He could have handled it better, even under duress.

I think that's why I like the movie, Xavier is so flawed. He's not even close to perfect. And I can see myself in the scenes with his mum - it's scary.
