A demonstration of the different wide angle lens options for the Sony HDR-TG1 / HDR-TG3 camcorder. You can see how the same scene looks when filmed with the Sony Camera without a wide lens, with a Magnetic Lens and with the official Sony VCL-HGE07TB wide lens.
The Sony lens is supposed to be used with the TG5 or TG7 camera - but works fine with the older TG1 TG3 as well. For more information on the magnetic lens option/experiment - visit WWW.TECHMOAN.COM

  • All so can you still Zoom when the sony lens is on ?

  • No, it goes out of focus.

  • Hi how are you going about carrying these lenses with you ?

They look good but what a night mare it must be carrying them with you. its a shame the sony brown leather case doesnt fit when the lens is on, especially the sony one

    Thanks for the video !!

  • Yes, I only use the Sony one now and it is inconvenient to carry around. I stick it in a pocket and only tend to get it out when I'm going into a confined space (like a building) where I know I'm going to have to use it for a number of shots.

  • Got it from Ebay from HK from a seller called chrisman2882

    Cost me approx £81 delivered.

  • First comment for like a year but sorry I had to thumbs down it because their is 100% thumbs up and we can't have that now can we, just to let you know I didn't think it was a bad video just wanted to break the 100% SORRY :(

  • The Official sony lens looks better then the nobrand magnetic lens. With the magnetic lens u see round black corners on the video you shot. The sony tg3 definitely is a good camcorder for shooting daytime video but i find my Canon Legria HF200 better in day and night time conditions. Also with a fully charged battery you can shoot for 100 minutes. The TG3 shoots for about an hour on a full battery. Still this is a nice video comparison of the lenses for the TG3.

  • thanks for the video - where did you buy it? and how much?
