Lily and Hal at Dunsany Chase 2008

Here is a link to the chase's facebook page with photos from this years event. Looking at these photos can you honestly say the horses don't look happy and they aren't enjoying themselves and what they're doing?

Well I debated whether or not to put this video up knowing some people wouldn't be happy with it but then I decided to put it up for people who go hunt chasing to enjoy it. This was at Dunsany Chase 2008. I'm not riding but the same bay mare as in my other ditch jumping video makes an appearance again. My horse Hal is also in it. He is the lightish bay with a trace clip at the start shaking his head from side to side saying he doesn't want to do the dicth! He follows the piebald and other bay over and nearly launches my brother off, and Lily the bay mare follows straight behind the big chestnut with my cousin in the light blue jacket on her. It was a bit sloppy around the stream that day but I have jumped that ditch before on Dunsany Chase and it's not that daunting really. As you can see there was a slightly smaller one to the left and you coud go further down and find a cleaner patch to jump for yourself as some of the people on horses in the background are doing. Oh...andhow could I forget-a guy falls off!! But nobody get's hurt so Enjoy :)

And even though Hal is reluctant to jump the ditch in this video it is a poor representation of his character and bravery as I have ridden him in countless other coss country chases and he is amazing, I'll never have another horse like him as regards how much I trust him to jump well and keep us both safe. I do not condone the whipping of the grey and like Hal got when he eventually decided to jump the ditch they should have given him a lead from another horse.

@SpasmicPorcupine SpasmicPorcupine you sick fuck. people like you dont deserve horses. this is rong at so many levels, one being horses dont need to be jumping that, as they can get there leg cought and broken, many horses were falling to there knees and Im surprised it was not worse. If you want to post a video of your horses, why dont you crop the rest out? You cant post this on a website filled with horse lovers and expect us to be like "Wow..cool." Hope your horse is taken.

i'm really shocked that you guys still have horses. my trainer knows all these kids, and after watching this, she's calling the police, and yeah. these horses should go to owners that know how to actually handle a horse.

@xxqhchickkxx Well to be completely and totally honest with you I doubt it as you live on the other side of the Atlantic as me. And even though I live right near where this chase is held annually I wouldn't know half the people riding in it so I highly doubt you know them 'all' as you said.As for the police bit lying/bluffing/scaremongering is foolish and although I can't speak for every rider in this video I can say that for me I can handle and what's more look after and love my horse properly.

@chaeli93 I don't at all condone the whipping of the grey at the end. I just put this video up to show my two horses jumping at the start Lily and Hal hence the name of the video. I can edit out the end if you want but I only put the video up as is because I didn't know much about editin back then ( remember this video is from 2008). I can edit if people want.

What dreadful, dreadful riding. Dreadful in the way that none of these riders should have asked their horses to do this. What a great way to knacker their legs and confidence! Idiots the lot of them, glad some fell off. As for that horrid man at the end (and the rider for allowing it) - should have got kicked in the face.

I'm not usually of those overly sensitive horse people, who think horses should be handled like dainty flowers or anything like that, but I have to say this could have ended really bad for some of those horses. Did you see how some of them were landing? Anyone of them could have easily pulled a tendon or worse...then what would you have said?..."oh, the horse 'wanted' to do it". Yeah...right. In this situation, most of the horses had more sense than the people..
