Got this on a promotional 7" 45. Studio version of course, not live.
It's on the B side of Run Back To Mama.
It says "Promotion copy not for sale - Release date: 28th June 1974"

Bill Chase was making the link that was needed to show how a Trumpet IS a Rock & Roll instrument !! No one has really followed thru to show this ! I Personally do NOT like what I call " SCREECH ARTIST ! " His Music speaks for itself !

Ok...just to stir the pot a bit, I'll have to say that Bill, Maynard, Doc and the rest were all fantastic and had their own individual styles, but my favorite is Bushmill's Single Malt aged 25 years Irish Whiskey! Seriously, though, we were all blessed to have lived during the times of such greats in the world of music. We should appreciate the ones who are still with us and always remember the ones who are no longer with us.

Glenfiddich and Chase....nuff said!!!!

I saw all the Jazz Rock and Big Bands of that day! Knew Buddy,Maynard, and Doc well and they were Fantastic-. BUT it was Travis Street Electric Company,Dallas,Texas in the Summer of 74 where I witnessed 4 Thunderbolt Blasting lead Trumpet players lead by the Great Bill Chase of the U.S.A. laying down a screeching WALL OF POWER with his Fabulous Band!! THE BEST!!

Saturday Night Wrestling on KTVT Dallas/Ft. Worth used this for their commercials back in the '70's!!

Back in the mid 70's, when the Seattle Supersonics were broadcasting a game, this was the song the station opened and closed the broadcast with. Didn't find out the name of the song or who it was until I heard the LP in the early 80's.

Wow, I was 15 years old when I heard my first Bill Chase album. I was blown away. Now I am 43 and I get those same chills from not only hearing him play, but now seeing him in concert. There will never be another Bill! I told my wife I wanted Chase live for Xmas this year!!
It doesn't seem to matter what gets on Youtube someone always has to start the "who is best game." It really is silly. When you get to the top musicians of any instrument of any generation there is no best. Especially when you compare across genres. It's like saying which 12 yr Old Single Malt is the best. Maynard, Mendez, Terry, Chase, Doc, Hirt, Dizzy, Andre and the rest of the transcendent players are all the best. We should thank the gods for all of them enjoy the music. Jeff

Thank you so much for posting this. A great band that deserves much more than being forgotten. May he rest in peace.
