@codkiller100 ROTFL! Texas would slaughter California!

All of these predominantly White European Christian states founded on self-reliance and hard work and the pioneer ethic would probably be better off away from multiculturalism and diversity and liberalism. I'd like to see them secede and go on to prosper and thrive, unfettered by damn jewish controlled federal government. Godspeed.

@darwincity I'm not an econ expert. Please explain a little further. . .
. . .bearing in mind that my original comment implied no responsibilities whatsoever from one state to another. Merely a common form of currency and the promise to come to each other's aid in times of military crisis. What SORT of "responsibilities" & "harmonization" do you think is necessary? And why?
-
@rmcdaniel423 Well, Europe did do well until a certain time, but any union needs some sort of harmonization, and in this sense, Europe did fail a bit on the economic side. You can't have a hard-working women and a lazy man (or vice-versa) in the house. There has to be some responsibility from the latter. This is what is trying to be achieved with the forced bankruptcies/mass reform which are being introduced in Europe. After all, some US states are contemplating this...

Let them leave
California will go to war and take there oil
That settles that hahah :P

You have a slight point. Since that portion of the treaty was ruled void by the US, then Texas doesn't have to hold up their end of the deal. Congratulations. Texas has been a free country since the Civil War.

He'd dead right about Alaska. AK has a small population and vast natural resources. If AK became independent it wouldn't have the federal governemtn constantly butting in telling Alaskans what they can and cannot take out of their own land. Alaska has plenty of natural recources to trade and create jobs with.

@PresBarack The court did allow that divisibility might be possible "through revolution, or through consent of the States."
Leave something out ?.
-
@PresBarack Picard facepalm moment.
Europe seems to do fine as a bunch of independent states that share a common currency (in addition to their own internal currencies) and that watch each other's back militarily (most of the time). I don't see why North America couldn't be the same. A bunch of independent states with a shared economy. And various State military bases that watch each other's back. We don't need the Fed. It does more harm than good.
