@stevevandien Of course, had the show been a ratings winner, they wouldn't have said boo. But since the show was expensive, got low ratings and so the price of commercials went down, presto, they cared. The CBS bigshots were money-grubbing and tasteless. But that said, I myself, crazy about Judy, do occasionally get uncomfortable with her touching, sensing that something isn't quite right, that it isn't suitable for the small screen.

@defundthewar Judy could be difficult, as many great artists are. But the CBS bigwigs could certainly have cut her more slack. They seemed unable to understand that they were dealing with a UNIQUE artist, and the kissy-touchy stuff, dammit, didn't matter. I'm just glad that we have virtually her entire program on video:) --

Love this duet. Thanks a lot. What a great singer and a handsome and charming man Jack Jones is. Judy : no comment. She's always been one of the very best.

@henrygrove100 LOL, "in the can" is an expression - it means that in all the years the video (or film, or whatever) was sitting unviewed, "in the can", the performances somehow got better. Of course what it really means is that we have changed, gotten smarter, or our perspectives have changed and now we see what we didn't before. There are quite a few performances I have discovered over the years that got better "in the can"!
Judy Garland has the most blendable voice; love to hear her sing duets. Jack Jones is tops in my book, and cute, too. :)

Judy's "Lover Come Back" in the middle is a gem! No one brings it home like her - she lays the groundwork so tenderly then finishes it off with a crescendo of rhythmic emotion. Wow! Jack Jones looks seriously impressed:)
