History Channel - Before the onset of World War II, Germany's planes were far superior to those of the US and the UK. This program explores how the scientists and engineers improved on technology and helped to defeat Nazi Germany. Using specially commissioned computer graphics, previously unseen archive footage and interviews with aviation experts, this program brings back to life the Secret Allied planes of the Second World War.

  • Northrop, Zimmerman, Johnson, Lockheed. Tribute to these daring designers. They were on the cradle of all modern planes. Thinking out of the box, a gift to be admired, was what all these men had.

  • @Brera011 Couldn't agree more!

  • It's well and fitting, that Jack Northrop was able to see the Northrop B-2 "Spirit" Stealth Bomber, before he passed away.

I truly hope it gave the old man some real satisfaction, to see the ideas he pioneered, so perfectly vindicated.

  • @PhinfanUK it's a good thing too.

  • I wish they'd stop going on about German and Japanese jets and how they'd have won the war at the end.

It's rubbish. Niether the Germans or the Japanese had the resources to even think about mass production of anything at that point.

  • Mountbatten wants an Ice carrier, but killed the TSR2, what a plonker.

  • @scarlebloke Whatever it is, I want it. If you find ever find out, please let me know! Old school class & extremely British.

  • @vanessamcqueen11 It certainly isn't a Rolls Royce but unfortunately I can't tell you what it is! I'm wracking my brains over it LOL!!

  • @Brera011 I really disagree... German engineers should be also noted for the work they did. Also they had the first stable flying wing...

  • These type of documentaries about WWII aircraft technology are quite fascinating. Thank you for uploading this. And as a side note, I'd really like to own that car (a Rolls, I assume?) Lord Mountbatten is in when he arrives at Churchill's countryside residency in 1942 (approx.5'07"). What a car!

  • Northrop B2 is a copy of the horton 229/Horten Ho-18 amerika bomber

  • Its sad if we had any of these air craft we would have a had epic m262 and hortan or flying wing or p80 dogfights.
