So I went to the guitar show as few weekends ago, and got sold on the fact that I needed a TC Helicon Harmony G-XT effects box. I did finally get one and it is a neat toy to say the least. Now I have never claimed to be a singer, and anything that involves my voice is a challenge to me. I figure if you are going to try to sing harmony, then what better song than Seven Bridges Road by Steve Young, and made famous by the Eagles. This video is more of a test to see how this box works. The Harmony G-XT is pretty straightforward to use right out of the box. However, for me there has been a small learning curve with mic technique and the harmonies using the Harmony G-XT. The high part of the song is out of my range, and you can hear the Harmony G-XT searching. (almost a warble or chorus effect). It is not the boxes fault as it is just trying to help my less than stellar vocal control.

I recorded and mixed 4 stereo tracks on my Tascam DP-008 multi-track recorder. Two acoustic rhythm tracks using my Fender 140SCE thru an Acoustic AG30 amp, one bass track using my Peavey Millennium BXP Bass thru a GK Backline 110, one vocal track using a Shure SM-58 run thru a TC Helicon Harmony G-XT. The video is laid over the final mixed audio track; so if it doesnt line up perfectly, dont beat me up too bad. I have had reservations about uploading this video, since I have had mixed reviews from others about the song. Anyhow, I hope you like it, and thanks for watching.

  • Great job on this Scotty! I thought it was very well done, and I also like the TC Helicon Harmony GXT. I too am working with one and it is an awesome tool. Keep 'em coming!

  • @BobbyCook13 - Thanks for your kind words. I use the H-Gxt all the time.

  • Great job ..... very enjoyable.

  • @MnMsPoppy - Thank You

  • Well done! I see nothing wrong with your voice or tonal quality. I use a DigiTech box and I know if you get slightly off key the harmony will NOT be a pleasant sound. Again, well done and keep it goin'.

  • @RTwinkie - Thanks Twinkie, I love my Harmony G-xt. I don't perform without it.

  • its Jeff Bridges!!!! lol

  • @captbanjo1 -I recorded this the first night I had my Harmony G-xt. I have never claimed to be a singer, especially the high notes. I also have problems with most the Eagles songs. Thanks for commenting.

  • I think you sing well. If the song is out of your reach on the high part, why not drop it to C or B? I do this all the time with groups like the Eagles. I drop Desperado from G to E.

  • @dkblanke - yes, the guitar is run thru the Harmony-Gxt. There is a stand alone mode you can uses as well, but I always run my guitar into it first.
