Forgotten in the Shadows a Jonas Sister Story Chapter 8

Mama Jonas's POV:
After sitting silently in our room for what seemed like ages, I decided that I needed to get up and do something. I left my exhausted husband asleep on the bed and headed towards the study. I paced around the room until I came upon the bookshelf that held all my beautiful children's baby albums. First was Kevin, my calm, kind and knowing child. Even when he was little, he was always there for any one that needed help. Next came Joe's book, I laughed as I thought of my Joe, he was definitely my happy wild child. When Joe was little he always found away to make my day a little more.... exciting, you could say. After Joe's was Nick's, the one I swear that should be older then Joe. Nick used to tell me everyday that he was going to be the first Rockstar/ President, and I still believe one day he will be. Next came Brooke's book, I slid it off the shelf and carried it to the desk in the middle of the room. I opened the book and smiled at the first picture. It was of Brooke on the first night we had brought her home.
Flashback
I flipped through the photo album of girls , hoping to find our new baby. Mr. Jonas and I had decided we wanted to adopt a little girl almost two years ago, but nothing had happened yet and we were getting worried.
Mrs.J: What if we can't her? I mean how will we know she's for us?
Adoption Agent(AA): Oh believe me you will know.
Mrs.J: But how?
AA: The mother in you will just know.
I sighed, my mothers feeling hadn't been working for two years now, why would it start now? I was on the third to last page when saw her. I stared at her adorable little face, it was her,this was our baby. Our adoption agent noticed I had stopped.
AA:Is there something wrong Denise?
Mrs.J: No I..I think I found her!
I showed her to Mr. Jonas.
Mr.J: Wow... your right, shes our baby.
2 Weeks Later
There was a knock on the door, both Paul and I ran to the door, I can't believe she's finally here! I opened the door and there she was already smiling at me. I held out my arms and she reached hers out too. I wrapped my arms around her and held her close. I kissed the top of her sweet little head still in disbelieve that she was finally ours. I smiled as all three of my boys crowded around my legs trying to get a look at their new sister.
K: Mommy we wanna see her too!
I laughed and crouched down so the boys could see her to.
Mrs.J: Boys this is your new sister Brooke.
N,J,&K: Hi Brooke!
Brooke cooed and gave them a big smile.
J:Mommy I like my new sissy but why does she have pink bear ears?
I laughed at little Joe.
Mrs.J: Oh sweety that just her coat.
I said pulling off Brooklyn's winter coat.
J:Oh okay! Joe giggled.
I reluctantly handed Brooke off to Mr.Jonas and stood back and looked at all my boys and my new baby girl. I smiled my family was complete.... for now. I woke up in the middle of the night and wasn't able to get back to sleep. I crawled out of bed and snuck up to the nursery. I tiptoed into her room and peeked into her crib. I smiled as I saw Brooke sleeping peacefully and then wished that this moment would never end.
End of Flashback
I snapped back to reality hard, what did I do to my baby? I got up and tiptoed up the stairs and into Brooke's room. I made my way to her bed and sat lightly on the edge. I smiled down at her sleeping face, but soon felt tears stinging my eyes.
Mrs.J: I'm sorry my baby, I'm sorry.
I whispered to her leaning down and kissed her head.
Mrs.J: I love you sweetheart and I promise to do better.
