Concussions are likely to occur when the jaw is impacted. The bone that connects to the lower skull is the upper jaw. The area where the skull and jaw articulate is a highly sensitive nexus of the human nervous system. What the device in this video does is align the jaw and creates a buffer zone so that upon impact, the jaw is stabilized, and the device absorbs the shock that would have traumatized the lower brain. Boil and bite mouthguards are simply outdated, this higher level of care must be considered in any contact sport, such as football, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, or any sport where possible jaw impact can induce concussion. The Patriots use this device, made by Mahercor labs, and they have the lowest concussion rate in the NFL. Why? Because they are aware of the concussion conundrum. www.mahercor.com
