Nocturnes: Lyrics and Light Exhibition

Gallery Installation preview of NOCTURNES: LYRICS AND LIGHT at the Nina Bliese Gallery in downtown Minneapolis. January 20 - March 4, 2011. In Mr. Hollingsworth's first local show, the Nina Bliese Gallery is pleased to present selections of Tucker's nocturnal photography urban parkland series.

Tucker Hollingsworth relies on scarce light sources—a full moon, a dim street lamp, or simply ambient. The light becomes a palpable force imposing order on trees and clouds rather than passively brightening them. This elicits lyrical qualities from otherwise mundane landscapes. Tucker's photographs explore boundaries between pastoral and urban, structure and disorder, color and light.

Tucker is a recipient of a 2010 Jerome Emerging Artist Residency grant. His work was most recently exhibited in Tuscany, Italy at Maestro Toscanini's former residence.

The Nina Bliese Gallery is very pleased to introduce "Nocturnes: Lyrics and Light" by Tucker Hollingsworth as his Minneapolis debut.
