  • Yes,.. you can find them at steelshad . com . If you will call me, I will give you a great deal! I might even bring 'em to ya! Otherwise you can just go to the website and order by PayPal, or by check or money order....

    Thanks,

    Blake

  • You are correct sir about the price not always being indicative of performance.....You sound like a worthy opponent....I do make a "$5" lure and I will be more than willing to challenge you to a fishing contest anywhere, anytime, and you can fish with ANYTHING you like....You will loose, and you can take the video...The SteelShad is my own product, and is the same lure I would use to whip your ass....

  • I think I'll stick to paying $5 at Walmart instead of spending hours trying to make my own.

  • You don't need gloves when you know what you're doing, and I've been doing this for about 18 years....What do you do? By the way, I was selling lures to Wal-Mart YEARS ago....They can't afford me because they sell cheap crap that people like yourself buy....Nothing against you or walmart....Just the truth....

    Thanks for the comments.

  • Do you need the flat part of the beltsander or can I use a drumsander, I have both.

  • @fishgills41 Walmart usually supplies products from good companies like Berkley,Papala,Yum,Zoom, and these companies professionally design their baits. Its why they make millions. And im not trying to offend or make anyone angry,I think what you do is really awesomme and its something your good at,but the Companies I mentioned dont sell crap.By they way,are you using balsa wood?

  • great video! that is going to be a great lure!

why do you only have 2 videos? i would love to see more of your work, as i am just starting to get into lure making. your expertise would be great!

  • Ever wonder whether saving $3 was worth 3h of your life?

AKA a trip to the lake w a factory lure?

I make lures too. All kinds. But I don't recommend it for any other reason that to study the effects of various mods via trial and error.

Species like trout are picky and even if you make a lure they like, chances of you making another just the same are slim. The consistency of factory lures is a good thing for more people most of the time. Efficiency also good.

  • @fishgills41 cool vid

  • @fishgills41 Time is money, but i do agree theres nothing like catching fish on your own goods!

  • i made my own crankbait before, but it didnt swim right. the wobble was far too much and it tries to float up sideways during cranking. but it was a lipless crankbait. like a rattletrap without the rattle.

  • I've been carving crankbaits and topwaters for over 35 years....by HAND.....with a KNIFE and sandpaper. The lip can be made out of plexiglass or either Lexan and glued into the front slit.

Usually cedar or balsa works best for this type bait

  • how do you get the shape in the begining???

  • COOL STUFF---I'D LIKE TO MAKE THEM FOR MYSELF AND FOR SALE ON EBAY--HA!
