Sterling Magee and Adam Gussow, not yet incorporated as Satan and Adam, achieve acute limited notoriety in a widely-distributed rock documentary by an Irish supergroup. Gussow tells the story of that day in his 1998 memoir, MISTER SATAN'S APPRENTICE.

  • do these musicians like u2s music and do they like u2s personalitys... i wonder how much these guys got paid in royalties from rattle and hum,i guess if they saved they could have earned a million each..did they waste it.....please log on to equip.org

  • @soulkiss1001: Thanks for asking! "They" is me and Sterling Magee. We got paid a total of $1000 each for our appearance in the film. In exchange for that, U2's lawyers demanded that we sign away all rights to royalties on the song. When I called the lawyer to ask about this, he used the word "f-cking" and "out of your f-cking mind" three or four times in one sentence, telling me I was a fool, an idiot, and a b-stard for not being grateful. The album sold 15 million. We didn't see a penny.

  • I like the song! Anyone know the title?

  • "Freedom for my People"

  • Is that Nat Riddles standing next to The Edge?

  • No, although it does look somewhat like him. It's just a guy who happened to be watching us. Nat did come down to 125th St. one day, though, and jam with Sterling. I have a tape of that, and I wrote about it in my memoir.

  • Unbelievable... I'd heard "Freedom for my People" about 10 million times throughout the years on Rattle and Hum and only now I see it was Sterling and Adam. Incredible. You guys are amazing.

  • why is it in black and white?
