This is beautiful. A beautiful old bar-room ballad, the likes of which you never hear anymore. We used to drown our sorrows in ale and song in a sort of grim camaraderie, now we drown our inhibitions in a frenzy of indulgence and excess. The music reflects this. These days it's what moves your body, back then it was about what moved your heart. I can't say it was better or worse, but it was certainly different.

Elvis Costello does an incredible version of this on his Kojak Variety album.. I really must get around to uploading that entire album, not much at all here anywhere.

@Pianomantodd1 Part 4: In one of my favorite writings by Bob Dylan,"Last Thoughts On Woody Guthrie" there is a bit about self introspection (A small excerpt:
"In this ocean of hours I'm all the time drinkin'
Who am I helping, what am I breaking
What am I giving, what am I taking")
Read the whole thing if you get a chance, sorry my comments ended up being super long
@ terr0rkitten: thanks for the video

@Pianomantodd1 Part 3: With that kind of mindset, we'll all be stuck in a merry go round puke fest because I have to admit I've watched some bad b-movies, especially scifi that nobody should ever watch or enjoy as they actively kill brain cells. I still have to take supplements to compensate for the loss, haha. I'm not writing to be all judgy, I haven't got the qualifications, I am simply sharing my opinion.

@Pianomantodd1 Part 2: It's not like greed or shitty music are newly released concepts.
When do you even get time for (contemptuous) shame, isn't life so short as it is? It's not like you owe the god of shame a debt, that if you don't fill your quota of daily shame he'll send some dudes to rough you up.
If your neighbor is jamming on some god awful shite that churns your stomack, it's not necessary to go ahead and puke on the sole of his feet to mark your disgust.
