With a stainless steel mixing bowl, a small pizza pan, a couple dollars worth of nuts and bolts, and a little spray paint, you can make an inexpensive but beautifully performing light modifier for your small flash.

I'm making myself a beauty dish very much like this one over the next few weeks, using the following:

•Dish• 18" stainless steel mixing bowl

•Mount• Very similar mount to the one used in this video, but a bit cheaper

•Reflector• A jam strainer funnel without the funnel or strainer part

•Light leak shield (Like the pizza tray)• 22cm metal cooker top cover

•And a few nuts & bolts like used here..

We need more of this. I remember seeing a sound engineer make a micro-microphone using a parabolic papier-mache dish 3 inches (75mm) across. He recorded bugs running! Well done.
