This fight took place in 1995, and decided who was going to represent the U.S. at the Pan Am games that year. Like the majority of the people there, I was both expecting and rooting for Double D to win. Upon arriving in Portland, however, word quickly circled that Bill Slayton was very confident about his fighters' chances. Anyone who knew Bill Slayton, or knew of him, is well aware of the fact that he doesn't throw words around lightly. This fight is proof of that.
I hate when the commentators talk utter shit. He said at the 4:54 mark that the 6' 2 inch height advantage is making the difference for Brewster. But, idiot, wasn't Dixon the 2 time National Champion and fought guys all over the world? By the looks of things, Dixon was probably the shorter fighter for all of his amatuer career-- not good commentary at all!!
