I think i solved the problem... I have a wired controller, but it only charges when i connect to the pc, because i can take away the wire from the controller if i want... But my question is, does it work with a wired controller from gamestop, or do i have to buy a normal wired controller? I dont think i want to buy the adapter...

@MrEspenS I couldn't begin to tell you if a generic GameStop-brand controller works with the PC or not, but you may be able to find some generic controller drivers for it. On the contrary, in terms of third-party controllers, I have been able to use a PDP-brand Afterglow 360 controller on the PC without any problems because the drivers were automatically installed, so it might just be a matter of luck of whether or not a third-party controller has specific drivers programmed for it.

@CaptCouch I'm using a generic gamestop controller, it works.

@jimikomik Awesome. Might get one if my PDP or Microsoft-brand hardware burns out.

This helped my get started but for some reason Project 64 is not recognizing my attempts to set the C buttons to the right analog stick. It also doesn't recognize it when I try to set the Z button to the L or R triggers. Thanks for any help you can provide.

@madeofspam What controller plugin for Project64 are you using? Also, did you install the drivers for the Xbox 360 controller using the installation file from the description, or did you let Windows set it up for you when you first plugged it in?
