Don't forget to place this recording in the sixties. Singing techniques were different than nowadays and vibrato was much more common,These days baroque music is often sung as plain as possible. But not always nicer. This recording has such great intensity. Beautiful voices.

i love how karl richter actually conducts with the correct 1-2-3 strokes of the baton to produce the strict perfect timing of the sind blitze sind donner, and how he doesn't overact with his conducting, he just does the job- AND VERY WELL :)
