A PASSENGER train that derailed at an inner-city station yesterday won't cause Monday morning peak hour delays, Queensland Rail said.
The train, bound for Sydney, left Roma Street station at 6:30am today when it derailed near South Brisbane station, just minutes into its journey.
None of the 60 passengers were injured, though the train was stranded on the tracks for much of the day.
A Queensland Rail spokeswoman said crews spent most of the day working out how to move the front carriage, which came off the tracks.
She said it should be moved by this evening and there will be no disruption to the Monday morning commute.
The passengers were taken by bus to Sydney.
with airbags and some old ties we could have pulled it on under its own power but no we have to have a team of engineers and a crane
