The scene between Archie and Gloria always brings a tear to my eye. Carroll O'connor could show such expression in his face. Love him!!!

You don't find it that good on Soaps. Too overacted. This is good.

I can tell from the way you word your responses that you are a know it all. Up untill now I put up general responses with inquisitive posts. My first one specifically read "Did New York have special rules?" To which your snotty smug reply was "you should check your facts before you reply." I only posted one fact which is common knowledge. Thank you for your info though. Unlike you, I feel there is always something we can learn from others.

I never heard of it being legal outright like it is now. I do know however that there were circumstances in which rich ladies or people of power could arrange to have a procedure done with a private doctor because they could say that they were psychologically affected and traumatized by a rape and couldn't go through with the pregnancy and come out sane at the end. Thus it would be a medically neccesary procedure and therefore legal.

@ds41980 You should check your facts before you post. Wade in "Roe v Wade", was the head of the County Health Department in Dallas. Abortion was illegal in Texas and other states, and was legal in other states. What the Supreme Court did is strip the state legislatures of their Constitutional right to pass laws banning abortion in their states.

Isn't this the first season? 1970 or 1971? Abortion was still illegal in the U.S. until 1973. Did New York have special rules?

Ediths character quickly developed into a loving,sweet and gentle soul. Glorias character went from loving and sweet to irritating and rude. Wish she had stayed like the former.
