Reply the whole robots-to-humans thing is nothing new. In G1 season 3, Springer, Ultra Magnus, Arcee and Hot Rod (I'm not sure, I forgot) had their essences transformed into humans, while their robot bodies were up for grabs by a criminal organization. The icing on the cake in this episode is that there's a cameo appearance of a famous supervillain/terrorist from yet another 80s tv show and successful toyline!!
