helloooo
this is actually my third Kinoshita Hideyoshi fanart. :) first of all, please let me clear this up: this is not a tutorial on how to draw manga, anime or anything. and also i am not a pro and i don't really deserve to be instructing others on how to draw. so this is just the me drawing the way i usually do. however i hope that this may help others who want to draw a Hideyoshi fanart as well. :) so i will include a few pointers here. please do read it m(_ _)m
i do this not to tell you how to draw, but to help you come up with the way you want to draw by yourself. :D
***sorry if my Hideyoshi fanart looks weird or it doesn't look much like Hideyoshi. DX motto ganbarimasu!~
ps: i do not own Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu, the characters or the story.
just the fanart :)
Nao's pointers: the way i draw
Kinoshita Hideyoshi:
1. face: wider in width but not too long in length. the distances between the eyes, the nose and mouth are not far. if you'll examine his face, he has a pointy chin and the sides of his face barely show up :3
2. hair: if his clips are on, remember that the bangs in the middle is not that wide/thick. his ears barely show up so remember the side fringes and make sure if go beyond his chin :3 edges are pointy and straight
3. eyes: my favorite part, thick lines around the pupil.
open spots on both sides as you can see in the video.
the line on his eyelid is not round. they're actually pointy and hard.
please check the lines/shape of his eyelids in he video to get what i mean xD
4. neck: not too thick (like men usually have)
since Hideyoshi is a feminine type male, lol his neck is thinner. just like a girl's
5. pencil strokes: it is best to do your sketch with less pressure on your drawing. so that erasing will be very easy. this way you can easily change your mistakes by overlaying darker strokes by the time you're about to finish your drawing xD this will also prevent you from leaving 'marks' or scratches on the paper.
6. shading: you can either shade in one direction or use cross-hatching. keep in mind that you should shade with more pressure in places that are supposed to be shadows, and lighter on other areas to give depth and differences among the grayish colors.
7.smudging: you can do this by either using your fingers, a tissue or a cotton bud. :D this might sound weird but slightly damp fingers works best for me...
when my fingers are super dry it feels weird. lol and it takes longer for the lines to smudge. well just find whatever works best for you...
*** if your fingers are too wet you might ruin the paper. so be careful :3
lastly, i often go through my lineart again. cause the lines get blurry from the smudging. :)
I REALLY HOPE THIS HELPS.
ps: constructive criticisms and comments are welcome.
but i might delete those that can be considered as "spam" or "insult"
thank you very much for watching...
Kinoshita Hideyoshi is my favorite BakaTest character by the way.
don't forget to check out the second part of this video for the shading portion.
song used: Perfect Area Complete Instrumental.
***i actually edited the song to make it longer. LOL
