Jayl's stunning musical and visual celebration of the Grand October Feast, previously available only on Jayl's Limited edition DVD - "The Dance of Life" - released 2011 and never seen before in public. The song is from Jayl's 'Dance of Life' album and was written with the beautiful and brilliant Dutch Singer-Songwriter - Landa. Guitar by Gloucester Legend - Andy Wood. All the video editing by Jayl himself. The song was recorded in 4 hours on a recent Halloween when Jayl visited Landa @ her Crooswijk Studio in Rotterdam. They wrote and recorded this song very spontaneously using Jayl's
revolutionary Gamezzz methodology and thus created a completely unique and ethereal piece of work. All the vocals were recorded in one take so you are hearing it as it was 'on the fly'. This version, officially called "Halloween (Crooswijk)" strips out many of the vocals to leave this eerie and suspenseful version perfect for the video. Jayl was actually endeavouring to export the
Halloween festival to the Netherlands, after his Dutch friends informed him that Halloween was not really celebrated in their country and that they thought it was 'a modern American gimmick just
for fun!' So after Jayl had delivered a brief history of All Hallow's Eve and it's role in British culture stretching back into antiquity, the song was written. After this, Jayl, Landa and their friends visited the lake at Kralinge Bos, near the studio. Jayl organized the building of a huge
fire, Jack-O-Lanterns were lit and the girls wore horns and tails! He then proceeded to 'spook' his audience with scary tales from the vast grimoire of English ghost stories and supernatural tradition. Hopefully, the folks in the Land of Orange were inspired enough to celebrate Halloween every year, so by now their should be thousands in Holland! It is hoped that when they do, they remember one crazy English singer who came to them in mask and cloak singing of "Baby Blue eyes 'neath storming skies haunting me"! Meanwhile, this video is dedicated to Mint Caracal - Jayl's
beloved black studio cat, who loved Halloween and sadly passed on during the making of this work. She can be heard purr-growling on the track and can be seen in the video. It is also dedicated to Dave 'the Goth' Regan, who also loves Halloween and helped greatly with the production of this work. The story goes that he once had his own black cat. But after one particularly wild and windy Halloween, the cat turned grey and moved next door. And Dave is a known animal lover! We leave you, the audience, to draw your own conclusions!
