I was there on Sunday. Waited hours to buy my ticket. What a fucking ripoff! 29 bucks just to get inside. It was fucking ridiculously overcrowded and a total scam. Worst convention I've ever seen in my life. I'll never go back or attend anything run by those greedy fucks at Hobbystar. Fuck them!

I loved it when so many fans claimed they managed to "slip in", or used some "alternative entrance around the back" or something so there was "no problem" so it was the fans' fault for "not knowing". LOL! Guess what would have happened if EVERYONE knew about it. The place would have been even more filled to dangerous levels. It SHOULD have been shut down, then those smug fans (who had the nerve to BLAME those who were locked out and never got in) would have gotten a damn clue. So much for unity.

@BlackTowerStudios: We still have these conventions; one's called Anime North, the other's called Polaris, and there are more like SFContario, and Whedonfest Just Google them to find out more.

@sMaRtiEs1202: If you are going to a con in Toronto, come to Polaris-it needs the attendees! And it will treat you better.

@SarahFields4eva: Please keep your 'our cops were tops' nonsense to yourself, TPS disgraced themselves completely during the G20. As a fortysomething Afro-Canadian man, I didn't even go into downtown because of this-I didn't want to be arrested for minding my own business. Please find out things before commenting about them.

@fan102bs: Just what I tried to say before, only to see what I said deleted. Great comment.

@dochaliday: Con 101 #5: Bring your own food and drink-it will work wonders for you when you need to eat.

Oh my god I completely agree with everything...it was such a huge clusterfuck of a convention. Even once you were inside, there was no order at all to any lines. And everywhere, no one walked - they shuffled. The area around the escalators to get into the dealer's room was a mass crowd as well. I brought my own lunch on Saturday so I never left, and thank god, I saw those lines and my jaw dropped. This year was my first time back after not going for two years, and just...wow. Ridiculous..

@BoredomCorner: Sorry, I think that it was me. As I said before, you should go to Anime North, Polaris, Whedon Fest, SFContario, and Ad Astra.

Mob mentality is to be expected in that situation dear, it's something you need to look up if you do not understand what I mean. I would never want to be in that situation. Also here's where you fail to make a point:
The fire marshal wouldn't need to lock down the building if FanExpo did not sell so many passes that the building became overcapacity. Do you understand that? They need to learn that safety comes before their wallets.

@Neville6000 Who had this removed? It was a valid point -- FanExpo is going to lose customers to these guys, if they haven't already.
I'd also like to point out that if you were to get a refund you would have to STAND IN LINE for that too, so not really solving the problem are we hmmmm?

@ZacicVolkshed It's called good customer service. If you have a problem with that -- as well as learning the facts, such as the fact that FanExpo oversold their con for the upteenth time and let people in DESPITE the fire marshal -- then don't bother pestering my site.
