HOW DID THE SONG EGGMAN COME ABOUT?
The song Eggman first came to me as a painting. I awoke one day with my head was so full of information and thought that I felt it was going to explode! With a canvas on the floor, I promptly splashed down a blue base, which serves as the ether, and suspended in it a white cracking egg with a limping skeletal body.

Now relieved and pondering upon the 'Eggman', I relaxed while playing the guitar. A guitar riff formed, which is the angular rhythm of Eggman's quirky stride. The words that followed the music were ladened with images and symbols that delve into the human psyche and an inner-desire for an expansion of consciousness. There was no inspired or creative relation to The Beatles song 'I am the Walrus', it was simply a subliminal image that birthed from how I was feeling at the time. Putting it all together with image and music, the final upbeat song moves along with a fun and delirious momentum.

WHAT ARE THE LYRICS FOR EGGMAN?
Ain't nothing like a postcard coming from your own mind, your own mind
Ain't nothing like a postcard coming from your own mind, your own mind
Hey, has your water broke? Hey! what's your fantasy? Hey, theres a tooth ache coming from your goldmine, your goldmine...

Why dont you come on over somtime...and have ourselves a really good time, talk about whatever inside, trip into the eggman's mieieieind...

Ain't nothing like a postcard coming from your own mind, your own mind
Ain't nothing like a postcard coming from your own mind, your own mind
Hey! what's your fantasy? Hey! where you coming from? Hey! there's an eggman swinging from your grapevine...grapevine...

Why dont you come on over somtime...and have ourselves a really good time, talk about whatever inside, trip into the eggman's mieieieind...

EGG SYMBOLISM - 'I FRY THEREFORE I AM' - EGGMAN!
EGG - symbolic exploration:
A great many prehistoric tombs in Russia and Sweden have revealed clay eggs which had been left there as emblems of immortality. In the language of Egyptian hieroglyphs, the determinative sign of the egg represents potentiality, the seed of generation, the mystery of life. This meaning persisted among the alchemists, who added explicitly the idea that it was the container for matter and thought. In this way was the transition effected from the concept of the egg to the EGG of the World, a cosmic symbol which can be found in most symbolic traditions---Indian, Druidic, etc. The vault of space came to be known as an Egg, and this egg consisted of seven enfolding layers---betokening the seven heavens or spheres of the Greeks. The Chinese believe that the first man had sprung from an egg dropped by Tien from heaven to float upon the primordial waters. The Easter egg is an emblem of immortality which conveys the essence of these beliefs. The golden egg from which Brahma burst forth is equivalent to the Pythagorean circle with a central point (or hole). But it was in Egypt that this symbol most frequently appeared.

MAN - symbolic exploration:
The myth of cosmic man was used in all traditional civilizations to represent universal life. Man was portrayed as carrying the universe (like Atlas in the Greek legend), as a cosmic pillar, supporting heaven and earth. Man is a microcosm, a reflection of the universe. Man himself is symbolized by that which is phallic. The image of a man must also be interpreted in context with other symbols, such as the tools or weapons he is holding. In some cases, this image was intended to be a representation of the bearer of the arms and was later borne by descendants of the original bearer. An old man is a symbol of tradition, contemplation, and justice.

  • I can't buy this song in Germany. amazon.com doesn't allow me to buy the mp3, because I'm not in the US, and I don't support iTunes. Any other way for me to buy this? It's not on any album I could have imported yet, is it?

  • @SteppenwolfDE Hi there! Glad you like it! The song is only available digitally at the moment. In Germany, you can also buy it on T-Mobile or Vodafone. I'm also waiting to find out if there are any other options, and I will let you know as soon as I hear news. All the best and chat soon, Dom (Team Eli).
