"David Tennant has done it. Matt Smith is doing it." Whatever happened to William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, and Chris Eccleston?
I would not want to see Depp join the list. I just don't think he'd be good. And I'd really hate to see them bring someone in just for the movie, as that would require them to fire the incumbent Doctor and then find yet another one to resume the TV continuity.

The moment Matt Smith stuck his head out of the TARDIS and asked for an apple I thought 'Yes. He'll be great.' Unfortunately Steven Moffat's writing has not done him justice.
