Roger Kingdom is one of the most indomitable forces in the history of track and field. He is one of only two men ever to have won Olympic Gold Medals in the 110-meter high hurdles in consecutive Olympiads, and he has recorded more sub 13 second 110 meter high hurdle times than anyone in history. Kingdom is one of only three Americans in the 220+ year history of the University of Pittsburgh to have won an Olympic Medal, joining fellow Pitt alumni, 1936 Gold Medallist, John Woodruff, Sr. and 1948 Bronze Medallist, Herbert Douglas, Jr., in that distinction.
