  • Solomiya was Ukrainian, not Albanian. She was the one to save the opera (after its unsuccessful bebut), and it is said that Puccini was in love with her.

  • @svitlanak33 she is not Solomiya she is an albanian soprano called Shqipe Mingomataj

  • thnx ,I know she is amazing

  • a ok sry I havent read it very well ,now i understand ,thnx anyway

  • Actually, the name of Cio-Cio San's son is not known. When sees Shapless out (II act), answering herself his question: Child, what's your name?, she says: Tell him, now my name is Sorrow but when my father returns it shall be Joy.

  • it is in albanian language !she was not known cause in that time albania was under the comunism government ,and it was not allowed to leave the country or to move abroad thats why she is unknown.I have heard so many singers singing this part but honestly I think she is one of the best ,thats my opinon ,anyway thnx for your comment !

  • If there is such a thing as reincarnation, I would not for a second regret or fear death, if it is destiny that I could sing into a person’s very being, as Maria Callas did. There is nor shall, there ever be such a brilliant and incomparable artist as she.

  • What a terrific voice this is and such feeling and expression. Thank you!

  • I see. Thanks for the information. It seems you have not understood my point. I was not talking about the singer but about the name of the MB's son in the opera.
