  • @ BrianLeexx: How to enact the learning of empathy capacity in educational systems is the core mission of the educational programs and advocacy of akrna.com. This is not the place to make that clear, but a visit to Antakarana Co-creating Learning Project website will make the point and answer your question. If it fails, you email me and I will close the gap! I agree enough talk about the theory and such, let's enact the change... We DO HAVE answers that work from experiential application.

  • wow..love the video..Thanks alot!

  • where can i find the whole yale empathy baby experiment data? google wasnt all too helpful so far

  • eat my own yoghurt? Yuurgh... i don't know about anyone else, but when i'm living in my ger, i'm still going to make yoghurt out of milk.

  • Question asker at 1:04:47 Thank you, you bring tears to my eyes with sorrow and joy.

  • I think the issue with these lectures is that it never explains how. I understand this is an awareness issue a not a methdology debate. Talks of a paradigm shifts are not new, and are not entirely fool proof either. Mr. Taylor points out that empathy is the mechanism in which humanity must enact this change. Empathy itself is vague and relative. Isn't empathy a bit too simplistic? And how will enact such changes in the Edu. Sys.? What do need to different and how will we do it?

  • Anyone else distracted by the extremely cute girl in the front row?

  • i think the transition network will provide a much needed boom bolster for many of the issues here, such as designing well, empathy and of course educating our young.

the goya metaphor from an audience member "the sleep of reason creates monsters", inferred a greater need for empathy and was a well placed view, as was the following audience member s eloquent interjection on this matter.

  • account's front page*. The realization of dealing with other possibly intelligent people and coming to real anti-ideological explanations and plans for things is satifying, more than any individualistic flame or shoot-and-run ideology can be. Empathy and long-term group systems of contact lead to better explanations of problems, better understanding of our limitations, less 'perverse incentive' to just insult and get OUT of the conversation without consequence.

  • i definitely agree with the counter to 'dont trust the public' based on well-designed deliberation. To the Guardian trouble on negative posts, I've found on Youtube there's a higher level of responsibility engendered in me by the ability to be responded to directly and have conversations over a long period with people- through the notifications given in my account's front pafe: it notes '5 comment responses' and I go back and read and reply, learning that polity and honesty gets better answers
