How Fix Your Computers Usb Ports If They Stop Working(responding)Restart in Diagnostic Mode/start up It worked for me but I can't say for sure that it will work for you but its definitely worth a try..

First click on start..then run...type msconfig..press enter....when the window appears click on Diagnostic Start up...then click Apply...the OK..when prompted to restart your computer click restart.

Let Windows load and see if your usb devices respond...if the do..go to msconfig again but this time click normal start up...then apply....then ok...then restart...let windows load in normal mode and check to see if your usb devices respond....if so you're done...if not you'll have to troubleshoot some more. here is a question for you... my usb ports occasionally stop working. If I restart my computer they will come back up and work just fine. my question is... do you know of a way to "reactivate" them to get them working again WITHOUT restarting the computer?

@mikziv the only way i can think of is to uninstall the usb drivers and then scan for hardware changes. can't say for sure that that will work but it's definitely worth a try.

@ElliisWiilson It's right in the title that it worked for me! (I never said it would fix every usb problem) any fix you try on youtube is at your own risk..this was done on a desktop.never said it would work on a laptop. try taking some responsibility for your own actions besides this is easily reversible so your laptop was junk way before you tried this fix.
