It's terrible that the hyena was kept in a chained in a basement, and it looks healthy and well fed now. But it seems like the guy is teasing the hyena with food—they laugh when they're frustrated or anxious—and that's gratuitously cruel. I know, I know, the animal is well taken care of, the guy probably works very hard as its caretaker, but there's no good reason for him to taunt the hyena. It's a stain on otherwise excellent care of the hyena.
Maybe the visitors expect it? Well sorry folks...
