Example of some aikido techniques and principles by Štěpán Benca (3. dan Takemusu Iwama Ryu Aikido, 4. dan Kodokan Judo). Mild interference of judo on footage.
Advices for using aikido on streets (on strikers, stable opponents)
1. Hands always in tradition pre-war kamae (position) for blocking
2. Don't be afraid to attack with shomen uchi and atemi
3. When on a ground try to maintain crouching position on a attacker (vs wrestlers, judokas) - when you are on your back, you are usually finished as aikidoka
4. Direct techniques are effective - kokyu nage, irimi nage, ikkyo
5. When you don't have a hand to lock, throw whole body of opponent
6. Train traditional aikido and try some controled sparring with other styles to gain some experience

this is enlightening. and sobering. i've previously been a little enchanted with pretty much all martial arts (in demonstration) for the ease in which they employ body mechanics to subdue opponents.. but it is good to see the evolution of an unchoreographed situation.

@TheCandyMan01 that would be because it doesnt work in any kind of realistic sparring,as you can see here its totally lacking in contact and resistance.

You don't really see alot of aikido sparring vids, so it good to see this one

You seem like an enthusiast, which is a lot different than an expert. Calling the kid in green a "street fighter" is just stupid.
