The True Fit Convertible Car Seat can be used when your child weighs from 5 to 65 lbs. The True Fit adapts better and easier to more cars than any other convertible car seat, and offers the comfort and safety features you have come to expect from Compass car seats, Compass booster seats and The First Years travel gear products. It offers deep side wings that have been side-impact tested, a full EPS foam liner that absorbs energy, and built-in lock offs to provide a secure installation without the use of confusing locking clips.

  • Anyone else see the irony in promoting a child safety seat in one of the most unsafe, unreliable vehicles on the road?

  • @LearningCurveBrands -

I am planning to use this in the airplane for my toddler and trying to find out the sticker which says it can be used in plane. But couldn't find it. I neet to find it incase I need to cofirm someone in plane that it is FAA approved. Could you please post a picture with the sticker or tell me where do I need to look at? Thanks

  • @jfmom yes you can. According to the manual, the headrest must be used if the child is more than 22lbs or if the child's head gets within 1 inch of the top of the plastic. With the headrest on, it can be used RF until 35lbs, or until the child's head is within 1 inch of the top of the plastic on the headrest.

  • You should only use one, two, or three pool noodles. You cut them in about foot long sections and you can tower them together and tape them around. Then place them under the front of the seat. Or you can use a tightly rolled towel, also taped in place. Do NOT use wood under the seat. They have not been crash tested this way and it is extremely unsafe.

  • It should be fine to install it that way. Generally you're asked to use pool noodles or rolled up towels, but a piece of wood won't compress and should work the same.

  • Any after market products used to adjust car seats or enhance them are not recommended.

  • I have this car seat for my 6 month old. I've installed it, rear facing, in the middle seat of my 99 saturn sl. I needed to install 2x4's under the front of the seat to make the red line level. It feels INCREDIBLY secure; so much more so than without the wood. Does anybody know if this will pose a problem in an accident? The wood isn't going to fly anywhere, I am sure of that, but can anybody think of any reason why this would be unsafe?
