Been learning Cantonese and French, and would like to know whether you can tell that I'm an English speaker or not when I speak those languages. Can you tell which country I come from?
I was born in Hong Kong and lived in Aussie for quite awhile now, and your Cantonese is understandable. (rather good) But locals do not use that much 'leh' as a slang. French sounds forced.
Youre definitely not English. You do have a slight accent. Infact when you speak, ur English accent sounds forced, not natural. I cant tell if ure faking it. But it doesnt sound bad. Its pretty good. Are u from HK?
I'd think you're from the UK. And you can't expect a complete stranger in China or Hong Kong to not force English on you. English is thought of as an international language and anyone that doesn't look Asian "speaks English" as a first thought. Besides, people there do want to practice their English skills with a Caucasian.
your french sounds canto...but you dont speak neither cantonese nor English naturally.....really can't guess.

Australian. If I close my eyes, you sound like a native Chinese speaker when you speak Cantonese. I have no idea about the French.
