Driftwood closed out the Cabaret Stage at the Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance in Trumansburg, New York and wowed the audience. As an encore, they played "Stealin' Stealin'," a jug band classic unplugged and in the center of the crowd. Based out of Binghamton, New York, Driftwood won a best band contest at the 2009 Grassroots fest, has toured regionally and is about to embark on a national tour.
Gus Cannon, of Cannon's Jug Stompers, is sometimes credited with writing this traditional song, although he never recorded it. The first recording was by the Memphis Jug Band in 1928.
Recorded 7/25/2010 and uploaded with permission.
