Time clock is an element that decreases the level of play, players have to think quickly and that could mean a mistake.
The use of shotclock is for the audience, that doesn't want to watch a long match... but who is there playing, ESPN and its audience or Orcollo and Yang?
As for me..I like the time restriction better..it will really show who's the better player if you can perform under pressure...and I think time restraint benefits the filipino players more...coz they seldom take their time to hit the ball..as you can see in this video...I never heard the bell go off on Dennis...unlike when it's Yang's turn...I heard the warning bell sounded more than twice!
Personally I like the time restriction since it keeps the game up tempo. The majority of people and even pool players do not have the attention span to watch slow pace matches. I also find the tim restriction beneficial for the players themselves. Players constantly thinking over a shot is not beneficial for the player.
I just hate watching pool match with time restriction, the beeping is so annoying. Pool is a strategy game, so sometimes it does take time to think. Player tend to rush the shot and not playing their best game. I rather watch a slower pace match but with higher quality of play.
