I spent that year in Rolla, Mo....at 608 East 11th Street....now some kind of a church! Attended midnight mass at St. Patrick's Church...next the old Highway 63. Wow! Things have really changed there!

the heart goes home at Christmas--old movies from the pre-video era are a family heirloom--enjoyed watching

This video makes me feel so happy. Absolutely amazing. ^_^

How far out Highway F was your house? We lived on F for many years, but starting in the early 70's.

I have twenty reels of this freaky stuff my grandfather did on Silent Super 8. Thanks for a kick in the pants. America the Beautiful is on the horizon again. Feliz Navidad.

Your house looks so familiar...

WTF does Christmas have to do with voting?

Why is John McCain lying about Obama?
John McCain says Obama wants to raise taxes on the middle class. In fact, Obama supports tax cuts of $1,000 for middle class Americans.
That's right: Obama is in favor of immediate tax relief of $1,000 for middle class Americans.
John McCain is a liar.
As a Christian, I won't be voting for McCain. I don't vote for liars.
Not even liars who can afford to show off $520 Ferragamo shoes while comparing their opponents to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears!
Is that house on Salem Avenue?...that looks so familiar.

No, it is or maybe was on F hiway. About five miles from Salem Ave. Many houses built in the 1930s in Rolla had the same familiar look. When we moved in, 1955, there was only running water in the kitchen. We had to deal with wasps in the outhouse and copperheads in the backyard. A bathroom was the first project completed.

Your video is beautiful. I grew up in Doolittle and my dad "the late" J.L.Corder was the Fire Chief and asst.Cheif until he retired in May 1970/71 at Ft.Wood.
Last week they tore down The Hargis building circa 1957 dad cut all the sand stone for...Look up the song Ashes to Ashes by The Fifth Dimension the lyrics are perfect for that sort of thing.
By the way dad would be nearing 101 and I am 50 now. We lived in Doolittle until 8-1972.

Did you know Luther Stites, Frank Blue, Joe Brenneisen, Bill Oliver, or John Renick?
My wife's mother is from Newberg.
Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust
It'll never be the same
But we're all forgiven
We're only living
To leave the way we came
