sorry for the dumb questions, but are you a lefty, and why not real like cymbals?
-
I wish I could play like that. I guess I go practice some more now. TD 10 sound really nice. Roland makes excellent products.

You look like Lionel Richie

Brilliant!

Sounds are boxy, nice drumming though
check out the sound on this --> watch?v=YpjZWujoTDY

2:00 that isn´t a real cymbal! xD

7 guys don´t like the GOOD music

Wow man! You've got bigger cajones than I do putting yourself out there like that. That was great. You seem very comfortable with the 7/8 feel of the song. I can without a doubt say that I was very entertained by that. Is that some kind of Weckl-play-along track, b/c it didn't sound like the real track. Know what I'm saying?

Damn! instantly subscribed to you after seeing the first 30 secs!

you always do a great job on your videos...keep it up.
Very nice work. Probably the best Dave Weckl I've ever seen, besides Weckl himself of course.

Thanks so much for that great compliment. You're right, there's no touching the real Dave!

hey man, are you able to write down how you played the pattern at 1min:15sec in the video. Played between hi-hat, snare & kick.
Thanks heaps. You are left handed, so I'll reverse the sticking, as I am a right handed drummer.

I'll try... Something like this: lrrllrLrrllrlrrlRllr where the caps are the snare accents. Bass drum is generally on notes #1, 6, 13, 16 of the pattern. Remember it is in 7/8 time sig. so some of the notes are 16th and some are 32nds in order to fit 20 hits into a 7 count. Hard to explain that part, but the sticking should be as written. Not something I think about or do the exact same every time, so there is some variation here. This kind of thing is much cleaner on a real kit!

I noticed your also using Dave Weckls' signature sticks as well...can I ask what weight they are and are they a ball tip, rounded tip, plastic or wooden.

Actually, in this vid I'm using the "old" model Weckl sticks, wood tip, round. I'm not sure of any weight deviation. I've since abandoned these for the new model when recording, though lately I've been using pro-mark 707's live.
