@siscatotraceur Well actually it depends on style more or less. Traditional taekwondo turning kick (or roundhouse kick) strikes with the instep of the foot, by curling your toes towards your heel as he does. For tournament purposes though people use the ball of the foot as it causes a lot more pain even through padding.
And about the keeyuh, it's just a morale raising shout. But technically, it prevents you from getting winded as a result of getting hit while breathing in.

The way he points his foot is all wrong he curls his toes toward his heel he should curl his toes back to himsefl it will just hurt his foot

the way he puts his hands and talks makes him sound and look gay

@blitzX07 none of what you said is right but ill correct just one thing, mawashi geri is japanese. dollyeo chagi is korean.

@Drummingisthebest33 You're doing it right, it's on a heavy bag you kick with your instep ^^

If he's gonna pre-pivite, anyone is gonna read he's going to kick. Do it in one solid movement, people!

The chamber on this kick is just wrong, the knee should be tucked in more and held 45 degrees across your target center line. That way you're kicking THRU your opponent! Not "just thru", this guy most likely doesn't spar very much, I dunno how he would last at a tournament kicking like that...

Tkmemberz is wrong its with the ball of your foot. I asked a grandmaster and she said its with the ball of your foot. Also just about any other martial art site would agree.

A true round house kick (Mawashi Geri in Korean) is a semi-circular kick that strikes with the ball of ones heel or the bottom of one's foot. However most dojos teach to use either the shin or the instep just for safety reasons but in a real fight it is worthless unless you use the bottom of your foot.
