  • How did you get the harmonic balancer off? The crankshaft keeps turning! And where did you get the harmonic puller from? I've been looking everywhere and can't find one, do I need it? Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

  • @seth82681 know what u mean i went through that too lol no worries, my balancer was seized to the sprocket, just like urs,

once you remove the main bolt the balancer should come off with a little effort, if it doesnt DONT FORCE IT, You wana pull on the balancer while supporting the crankshaft so use a pulley puller part shops have em, i used a wheel bearing puller in the video with zip ties to hold it there worked fine.

  • You took the whole front end off for the pulley ? Or was there some other plan ?

I just cut the timing belt loose, then slide works forward enough to access top center bolt, then slide cover and pulley off together, then seperate the crank pulley off the damper hub.. dont forget to clean the OD of the pulley so new crank damper slip right on.

You didn;t need puller. $300 for the damper ?? I think our retail price is somewhere around $150,, I have to double check that.

  • needed a new timing belt anyhow so i decided to take it all apart replace both belts and check for any other damage the broken damper caused,

couldnt get it off without a puller tried several times, and i wanted to be carefull not to damage the crankshaft snout,

those prices must be american, paid 290.38cdn for the damper, and 55.83cdn for a new sprocket.

  • Hi

you put puller wrong, it just holding the top pulley, it should hold both, top and bottom pullies, when u were pulling out.

  • i had the same exact thing happen.. i have a 2003 tuscani elize 2.7 motor... my hyundai is now nursing a bad crankshaft bearing .. it cost me 90 dollars for the pulley... i had a friend show me a trick .. take off the wheel and theres an access hole trhough the wheel well.. it makes it alot easier
