On the Morning of October 30, 2008 the Bibb Mill. The largest textle mill in the United States caught Fire in Columbus, Georgia. The four story structure was over 1/4mile long
My Grandfather was Plant Engineer for Bibb Mill back in the 50's and early 60's. As a child I remember getting haircuts at the barber shop there, and having free run of certain parts of the old mill(and Bibb City in general). A sad end to what was once the largest textile mill in the country.
@HMusicability i am, its weird im young nd only been in columbus and been alive 4 11 yrs and thats 3 fires ive seen now weird nd all right i saw baker highschool -abandoned, bibb city-abandoned,and swift mill aboned , my point of view i think it some homless people or someone who really hates abandoned places to stay
this broke my heart. that was where my great uncle and my grandfather, and my great-grandfather worked. I explored it in High School and thought it was haunted b/c I heard a voice- but now we'll never know. Such a historical building, it was the backbone of Bibb city.

3 years before this, Jordan Mill burned down. 3 years later than this, Swift Mill burns down. Anyone else seeing a pattern?
