@nytecam i dont know all the things about measurements, just the approximate width of the mirror 6-7", i dont know the distance between the mirror and the secondary refloctor thing but it isnt massive (if it has any relevance at all), he wouldnt give me a piece of crap i know that but i was just wandering whether its worth it or not, seeing as i have a newtonian telescope with a 6" reflector myself (still learning how to use it).

:-D i have just realized the size of your telescope and that I'm notgoing to get these sorts of images....... but what intresting things can i expect too see with a etx80? will there be any chance of seeing a whirlpool cluster of stars?

@MrBroomdogg You will see the Whirlpool galaxy as a faint fuzzy patch of light - a really big scope needed to see it clearly - I've used a special astro cam to get these ETX-70 shots but good luck in your stargazing;-)

what kind of things can you see with a meade etx-80 at-tc? theres one for like $250 and im thinking about buying one, and i want to know if i can see plantes, nebulas, ect.

@appleipodtouch2g This range of scopes are all portable and intended for general day/night viewing but views of the planets will be poor due to short focal length of ~350mm - if ok for my w/angle deepsky imaging. If serious about visual astro I'd go for a 6" or larger Dobsonian scope.

you seem like a person who knows what may be a good telescope, my friend is willing to give me a small electronic 7 or so-inch reflector telescope with a 4 inch focal length or something like that, for a fraction of the price it was bought, what sort of pictures do you think i would be able to take with it on things like the moon and the orion constellation among other "beginner" regions?

@ConnorXV Connor - I presume you mean 7" x 40" focal length?? The moon and brightest planets can be snapped with a 'static' telescope but the stars need a good driven scope that tracks the stars accurately. So if its cheap [and without a full spec] then give it a go otherwise avoid.
