  • Be pro-choice

A fetus is NOT a human, just a mass of tissue

    Abortion is safer than childbirth

The number of abortions are relatively small

Nobody has the right to impose their morals on others

A woman should be able to control her own body

Abortion must be kept legal, especially for all the rape and incest pregnancies

If abortion is outlawed women will be forced to go to back-alley abortion clinics

Aborting an unwanted fetus reduces the number of abused children

  • I'm sorry but this video is not formatted in a way that it can justifiably be considered only for the purpose of education of potential mothers. This video is borderline propaganda. If you make a video with dark depressing tones, shake the camera a few times and use the right wording you can make a horrible, disgusting video about child birth just as easily. I'm completely in support of women knowing what to expect in an abortion, but this video resorted to the level of political smear campaigns

  • @SaraAndBaby I also am intrigued by the human mind and what we have yet to discover about it and its function. So it is not that I place no value on the potential for consciousness, it is just to me, more an issue of what is best for the whole. If there are no parents for all adopted children, what of them? Will any of those who don't condone that woman's choice help raise the child? If not I feel the approach is more in providing education/solution than persecution. : )

  • @SaraAndBaby I appreciate your view and have honestly felt the same before. I have 3 of my own whom I love more than life, but I suppose I tend to look at all things clinically over emotionally as I believe this will give us the most unbiased view to what I imagine is the "greater good".

  • @ulthea (cont...) a second chance, and it gives that baby it's first chance at life. I'm 35 weeks pregnant, I feel my baby everyday move inside me. I feel his hiccups, I feel him roll around, nudge me, kick me, punch me. From day one, I loved him. From day one, he had his DNA set out for him. I could of never took that away from him, he had every right to live just like I did. As you did. :)

  • @ulthea Thank you! As for your reply, I understand their are many children up for adoption. I understand their are emotional, mental & physical effects on the mother choosing adoption. However, every child will turn out differently, whether put up for adoption or not. We cannot tell the future. If the mother were to choose abortion, their would be effects as well. I never said it was a black & white issue, I just believe choosing abortion is the most selfish way to go. Adoption gives the mother

  • @kellyabobbyc "A child that never had a chance to live or be loved."

Or a child that never had a chance to be born addicted to heavy drugs, be unloved for the majority of their young lives or perhaps inherit a nasty mental/physical illness which requires consistent government care for the rest of their lives.

Because looking at this issue through half closed eyes gets us nowhere : )

  • @kellyabobbyc "93% of women have reported regretting their abortions"

93% of statistics are made up.

So you go on about wanting statistical proof for the many unwanted children who are currently abused etc, then in the next breath create your own bull shit statistic completely contradicting your first statement!

"heaps of kids are still unwanted!"

    Then....

    "No woman regrets birthing!"

    ...wha??

  • @SaraAndBaby Oh, and congratulations on your baby, don't be scared it's a beautiful thing when you are ready. Also beautiful how loved they already are :D

  • @SaraAndBaby I respect your views completely. I just want to ask you, what about the thousands of children waiting to be adopted (114,000 in 2009 in the US - acf.hhs.gov), some without hope for their futures? You might argue that some life is better than no life, but what about the mental and emotional effect on the women who give their children up? Or the mental state of those children who never knew the nurture of a loving parent?

Please consider that this isn't so clear cut an issue : )

  • Anyone who feels that abortion is a black and white issue needs to consider how many unwanted pregnancies they themselves will help support. Will you take the crack baby home with you, the child of the mentally ill mother, the child of the destitute? There are many reasons why abortion is not simply an "immoral" thing, anyone who feels this way is failing to think rationally.

Pro choice works until we have a better solution. There is a bigger picture.

  • Ever heard the saying, "A partial truth is a whole lie."? This video is comprised of true statements, and yet, because they are partial truths they add up to a false impression which is augmented by the ominous music. Perhaps the most significant omission is that an abortion is far safer, less intrusive and less painful than a full term delivery. For most women with unwanted pregnancies, it is also psychologically less risky.
