Many people experiencing micro stuttering or frame skipping in Fallout 3. This juddering was a known issue in Oblivion, and never really got fixed. As most of PC gamers don't use the 360 controller, they might not even notice it at all.

The only thing that fixes it temporary:

set iFPSClamp=0 to iFPSClamp=60 in the FALLOUT.ini

But if the frame rate drops below 60, the game goes into complete slow motion.

  • What processor do you have? I got a Core I7 and get frequent Micro-Stuttering. Perhaps I would set it different in my task manager?

  • Now enable Triple Buffering and Vsync and this should go away. I get a smooth 60fps and only on occasion does it drop a little to 58fps but this is not noticeable.

  • i enabled v sync and it stopped stuttering
