Boards of Canada - Skimming Stones

A fan-made music video to Boards of Canada's tune "Skimming Stones". I made it as a test to see just how good I could get the quality of a youtube video to look. The fire on the side of mountain is real, just like the girl in the video. The cat is part of my imagination.

Basically I set Compressor (from Final Cut Pro) to use photoJpeg at 30 frames with a few tweaks. There is a page online that describes what someone does for youtube videos and I used that as a basic starting point but made some significant changes. The cat and girl footage was originally shot at 1080p on an HVX200.

Or as the girl in the video said to one of her friends, "There's that fire, then his cat and then me. I dunno. I don't get it."

the video doesn't overpower the music. that's what i like about the video.

i like that the video used for this song appears to be an accidental mix. you didn't try too hard and it somehow fits with bocs brilliant alien-like music.
